OUR INTRODUCTION &
STATEMENT OF FAITH:
What We Believe
After listening for many years to the Hell Fire &
Brimstone sermons against homosexuals by my fellow ministers of the Gospel, it
occurred to me that I myself had never investigated the subject. Of course,
just like everyone else, I was quite familiar with the church’s use of certain verses
against homosexuals. However, I was acutely aware that the Church has also, in
times past, blasphemously twisted the Word of God to justify or condone racism,
brutal slavery, unspeakable acts of violence, the tormenting subjugation of
women (whom the benevolent God in His mercy gave to mankind as a gift of help
and companionship), and the destruction of lives, property, liberty and even
souls – and has dared to label these wicked debaucheries as “traditional
values” that are smiled upon by the Almighty. I watched the church rail against
music, video games, TV shows, and movies, and behave riotously through protests
and picketings and campaignings against everything and everybody they disagree
with or disapprove of. So I really just chalked up the anti-gay talk to being
another ignorantly overblown subject that really didn’t affect my life either
way.
What truly sparked my interest in the study of this
subject was the astoundingly fierce and downright hateful fury which anti-gay
Christians launch against homosexuals, and
the shocking lengths to which ministries will go in order to convert a
homosexual to heterosexuality – as though such a thing could ever save a soul.
Not adultery, divorce & remarriage, rape, murder, child abuse, idolatry,
blasphemy, not even abortion elicits anywhere near the hostility and damnation from
the Church that it lobs at people who love each other and have the same body
parts. In stadiums filled to capacity I have witnessed with horror the roars of
cheer and standing ovations and thunderous applause when an evangelist speaks
of the damnation of homosexuals; I could not imagine the Roman coliseums being
more terrifying. To any sane and rational mind this should instantly raise red
flags.
Whether certain types of intimacy may or may not be a
“sin”, it is just that: a sin. And every human on earth is guilty of sin, and
the penalty of sin is eternal separation from God in the Lake of Fire. That
being so, if indeed homosexuality is
sin, it merely confirms that the homosexual is in the same boat-without-a-paddle
with the rest of us; for nothing is made more plain in the Gospel than that we
are all condemned from the moment of our conception, that nothing we do or
cease to do can ever buy our salvation from that damnation, and that faith in
Christ Jesus alone brings eternal life.
So I began to ask myself what this pointed torpedo of
exclusive rage is that the Church has leveled particularly against
homosexuality, because, far from bearing any sense of holiness, it stinks of humanistic
fleshliness. And quite frankly I’d grown sick to death of religion, sick to
death of everyone else’s personal opinion about what they think is God’s views,
and sick to death of the nauseating hypocrisy. God is real and His Word is
truth – that I knew without doubt. And
I have nothing but respect for the rank and file of the ministry of the Body of
Christ. But I saw that somehow, somewhere, something was amiss. Even if the
Bible outright stated that marriage can only be between one man and one woman
and any romantic affection between two people of the same gender is an unforgiveable
offense against God (which, for the record, it does not), the church’s reaction
to this issue is so blown out of proportion and so utterly far from the
attitude permitted by our Lord that I really began to question the whole matter.
Thus I launched my own investigation into the Holy Scripture’s definition of
mating and marriage with open eyes, willing to accept in the end whatever God
has to say in His Word. This website, transcribed from my book of the same
name, is the result of that investigation.
This is a very heated subject and naturally there
will be
opponents to my presentation. In fact, in the many years since I first wrote
this site I have received many violently hateful letters damning me to the 7th
level of Hell. Yet not one of those opponents has refuted my presentation.
Rather, attempts at the assassination of my character typically becomes their
holy mission. Character assassination of an opponent is usually the last resort
of those on the losing end of a debate, even though the debate is about an
issue rather than the debaters. Therefore, to prevent a cause for an accusation
that the author of this site is a cultist or renegade liberalist Christian
minister, I present here my
STATEMENT
OF FAITH:
I
BELIEVE and confess from my spirit that
Jesus Christ is come in the flesh – a statement which cannot be professed by
those without the Spirit of God, as it is written:
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits
whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the
world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God:
Every spirit that
confesseth that Jesus Christ is come
in the flesh is of God,
And every spirit that
confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come
in the flesh is not of God - and this is
that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even
now already is it in the world.
Ye are of God, little
children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he
that is in the world. They are of the world; therefore speak they of the world,
and the world heareth them. We are of God; he that knoweth God heareth us; he
that is not of God heareth not us.
Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of
error.”
I BELIEVE
that the Bible, the Holy Word of a Holy God, was not only free from error in
the original manuscripts (which have been lost for centuries), but I also
believe that God, in His Singular providential care, has KEPT HIS WORD all
through the ages right down to the present day as He Himself repeatedly swore
to do, and that His Word is found accurately translated to English from the
Hebrew and Greek Majority Texts in the King
James Version (see the section “Why You Should Only Trust The KJV” later on
this site). I consider the Bible to be the final and absolute authority on
matters of Faith above and beyond all other authorities on earth, against which
we judge all things, as it is written, “Thou hast magnified Thy Word above all
Thy name!”
I BELIEVE
that, since God proclaims that Man is made in His image as a triune singular
being consisting of a soul and a body and a spirit (Genesis 1:26-27 &
2:7/1st Thessalonians 5:23), therefore God Himself must be a triune singular
Being eternally consisting of Father and Son and Holy Spirit, Who are
individually and collectively and singularly infinite in glory, wisdom,
holiness, justice, power and love (see Genesis 1 thru Revelation 22).
I BELIEVE that Jesus
Christ is both true Man (Matthew 24:30) and God Almighty (John 1:1),
the Creator of heaven and earth and all that is in them (John 1:3), the fullness
of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9), who, in His incarnation, was conceived
by the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35), and born by way of a human virgin
who was the descendant of King David, Jesse, Judah, Israel, Isaac, Abraham,
Noah, and Adam (Matthew 1:1-23), making Him therefore both the Son of Man and
the Son of God equally, in fulfillment of the prophecies pertaining to Messiah.
In His earthly ministry He lived a sinless life (Hebrew 4:15), performed
miracles as evidence and demonstration of His authority and of His love and
mercy (Isaiah 61:1), and died on the cross at the hands of Man as a sacrificial
Lamb for our sins (Genesis 22:8/Daniel 9:26a/Isaiah 53/ 1st
Corinthians 5:7/Hebrews 10:12-14). He rose from the dead (Acts 3:15/Revelation 2:8)
in the same body now glorified (John 20:19-29) to secure that same resurrection
for those who believe on His name (Philippians 3:7-12). He ascended into Heaven
(John 3:13) where, at the right hand of the Father (Acts 2:33/Hebrews 8:1, He
alone makes continual intercession between Man and the Father (Hebrews
7:25/Romans 8:34/1st Timothy 2:5), until His physical and visible
return (Revelation 1:7) to contend with the wicked and to receive unto Himself
those who believe in Him, that where He is, they may be also (John 17:20-24).
I BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit, Whose ministry and gifts did not end with the primitive
church but is fully active today, is co-equal and one with the Father and the
Son; that He regenerates the believing sinner to new life; indwells, guides,
instructs, chastises and empowers the believer for Godly living and service;
and comforts the children of God. The Holy Spirit guides and gives power to the
church - the individual Believers in the collective Body of Christ - to fulfill
the Great Commission, and that He *convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and
judgment (John 16:8).
[*We interrupt this program to deal with an annoying issue which is
somehow sending some readers on a needless and distracting tangent. Please notice that I said CONVICTS "THE WORLD" - which
is a biblical reference to those who are Lost, not those who are Saved; so kindly stop sending me emails saying that
the Holy Spirit doesn't convict believers because I didn't say here that He does. Thank you. The problem of not paying attention
to what one is reading is the very cause of all of the religious chaos in the world and is the very point that I'm trying
to make in Gay Christian Survivors. A Christian should always double-check and re-read something they have an issue with BEFORE
they shoot their mouth off and disgrace the Body of Christ. Remember, what you say and what accusations you make affect the
safety of the entire Body of Christ. Now back to our regularly scheduled program].
I BELIEVE that while Man was created perfectly in the image and likeness of God,
through
the sin and disobedience of Adam, mankind - being the very offspring of the
body of corrupted Adam - fell into sin and is therefore lost apart from Christ.
Except a man be born again by faith in Jesus Christ, he cannot see the kingdom
of God. Salvation, purchased for us by the shed blood of Jesus Christ, is the
gift of God to all those who will receive it and includes the forgiveness of
sins, total justification, communion with God, the imputation of the
Righteousness of Jesus Christ, and the bestowal of eternal life. Union with
this God alone provides all blessings in this life and the life hereafter.
Salvation is received by faith alone, apart from all good works and merit - but
with righteous and obedient behavior following as a visible proof of that
faith.
I BELIEVE
that the Body of Christ - the Church -
is not contained in any particular organized or self-declared denomination of
religion, but is composed of all those regenerated by the Spirit of God by
their faith in Christ Jesus, by whom they have been baptized into one Body, of
which Christ alone is the Head. The purpose of this church, this Body of Christ,
is to bear witness and testimony concerning Jesus Christ according to the
Scriptures, to contend for the faith against false doctrine, and to preach the
Gospel among all nations.
