A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENTS
OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

My fellow countrymen,

I have often inquired of myself, "What great principle or idea was it that kept this confederacy so long together?" It was that all should have an equal chance, that all are created equal. This is the sentiment embodied in The Declaration of Independence. Most governments have been based on the denial of rights. Ours began by affirming our rights. Let us turn this government into that channel in which the framers of The Constitution originally placed it. If we cannot give freedom to every creature, [then] let us do nothing that will impose upon another creature. True democracy makes no inquiry about the color of the skin, or place of birth, or any other circumstance or condition. We propose to give all a chance. We expect the weak to grow stronger, the ignorant wiser, and all better and happier together. Let it be as nearly reached as we can. For the struggle of today is not altogether for today. It is for the vast future also. So may our children, and our children's children, for a thousand generations rejoice under those glorious institutions bequeathed us by [George] Washington and continue to enjoy the benefits conferred upon us by a united country.

This government must be preserved in spite of the acts of any man or set of men. Nowhere in the world is presented a government of so much liberty and equality. To the humblest and poorest among us are held the highest privileges and positions. What constitutes the bulwark of our liberty and independence? It is not the frowning battlements, or bristling seacoast, our army and navy. These are not our reliance against tyranny. Our reliance is in the love of liberty which God has planted in us. Our defense is in the spirit which prizes liberty as the heritage of all men, in all lands everywhere. Destroy this spirit and you have planted the seeds of despotism at your own doors.

Americans, especially religious Americans, need to remember that, according to the Constitution and the Pledge of Allegiance, the United States of America is a Constitutional Republic of free People. Contrary to popular belief, it is not a theocracy, it is not a democracy. As President Washington said, "We are not a religious nation; we are a nation of religious people." The enforcement of personal religious views on free people, depriving them of their equal Rights, is an attempt to overthrow our Constitutional Republic and is treasonous. It has somehow become the focus of a small but powerful religious community in the United States to try to enforce theocracy in order to establish what they view to be God's kingdom here on earth. But Jesus himself said, "My kingdom is NOT of this world. IF My Kingdom WERE of this world, THEN would My servants fight... But now is My Kingdom NOT from hence."  John 18:36

 

To my fellow Christians who are up in arms over the issue of gay Rights and marriage, who, with witch-hunting vigilante justice, seek to re-write our Constitution and our national and state Laws in order to enthrone your own personal morality, I bring to your attention the admonishment of James the brother of our Lord Jesus who said, "My beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath - for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God!" James 1:19-20. And it is with that same admonition that I ask you to keep in mind while reading this site, keeping your eyes and heart open, remembering that "Mercy and truth shall go before Thy face... The heart of the Law is Justice, Mercy and Good Faith."
